Orbi to start production of first ever 360-degree video eyewear

Wearable tech startup company Orbi has is ready to begin production on the Orbi Prime — the world’s first 4K, 360-degree video recording eyewear.

In November, the company successfully completed a crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo platform – securing pledges worth US$103,000, surpassing its initial goal of US$75,000 – and paving way for the manufacturing push.

Acting as a “regular” pair of sunglasses Orbi Prime offers hands-free recording technology and a polarized, eye-level point of view – “what you see is what you record”.

Featuring 1080p resolution, 90-minute recording time and water resistance, the product will be launched to target the adrenaline sports and outdoor adventure market.

The company was founded by a team of veteran hardware and software engineers from leading institutions – who in their freetime double up as photographers and outdoor enthusiasts.

“We were tired of having to sacrifice capturing the moments that were most precious to us because our hands were tied up in the activity,” said Orbi CEO Iskander Rakhmanberdiyev.

“Together, we developed Orbi Prime as the solution to this issue. Not only does it let us capture our greatest moments, but it lets us easily share them with our friends and family too.”
